Project Overview
Australian Electrical Industries were proud to be once again involved in the electrical services lighting upgrade for the Catholic & Protestant Chapel Buildings at HMAS Cerberus.
AEI were once again engaged by Ventia (Estate Infrastructure Managers) on behalf of the Department of Defence to undertake upgrade of the re-wiring of lighting and power circuits throughout the two Chapels. These works involved numerous challenges for our staff including high level works, restricted access, strict heritage conditions and weather related events. In order to meet these challenges, AEI engaged a specialist scaffolding contractor to custom build temporary high level scaffold with each of the two Chapels.
So that Chapel services could be maintained throughout the works period, only one installation was completed at a time. Careful consideration of the building infrastructure including heritage light fittings, furniture, delicate roof support beams and fragile slate tiles meant the works need to be completed methodically and meticulously.
These works were successfully completed over a 6 month period and involved delicate planning and communication with base management and other key stake holders.
