Project Overview
This project involved the refurbishment of an existing bunker and procedure room at ICON’s Epworth Hospital facility in Richmond. Delivered between January and March 2025, the works supported the installation of new medical imaging equipment through a full upgrade of associated electrical systems.

- Installation of protective earthing with compliance to AS/NZS 3003
- Installation of LED procedure lighting and automated lighting controls
- Installation of structured cabling (Cat6A)

Our Impact
This project supported the installation of new Accuracy X-Ray imaging equipment within a modified procedure room, offering improved energy efficiency and imaging capability. AEI managed complex site constraints including limited access, requiring removal of a side wall at elevated height and coordination of heavy crane lifts and specialised lifting aids. Works were carried out within a live hospital environment, requiring careful planning around patient areas and strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols. AEI also successfully interfaced new systems with legacy control infrastructure to complete the installation without disruption.
